●アラスカの石油の生産量の推移と予測
アラスカ州は、テキサス州に次いで米国で二番目に大きな石油の生産量を誇っています。
2009年、North Slope (ノース スロープ) での石油生産量は日量40 万 バーレルとなりましたが、1988 年のピーク時には日量210 万 バーレル生産されていました。
ノース スロープで生産された石油のほとんどは、全長800マイルの石油パイプラインでバルディーズに輸送され、ワシントン州やカルフォルニア州内の石油精製所で精製されています。アラスカ州内にも6箇所の小規模の精製所があります。

■石油とガスのリースセールプログラム
アラスカにはNorth Slopeやその他の地域に、まだリースされていない有望な土地がたくさんあります。 アラスカ州政府は陸上と沖合いを含めた広範囲な州有地での、石油とガスのリースセールを毎年行っています。 Department of Natural Resources, Oil and Gas Division (天然資源省、石油・ガス局) は、5年間のリースセールプログラムを毎年1月に州議会に提出しています。リースセールの対象地域として、North Slope, Beaufort Sea, Cook Inlet, North Slope Foothills , Alaska Peninsulaなどがあります。
